Single Images

We've always been drawn to the fringing lip of sea kissing the shores of our coastlines.  Vast oceans meet the land, as surging coils of powerful waves, or on windless days as lake-like calm.  The warm shallow waters of the tropics nurture oases of rich coral growth.  Here nature celebrates evolution's greatest masterpiece - the coral reef.  A rich mosaic of interconnected life - brilliantly coloured fish, corals and shells washed in clear turquoise ocean.... a realm where human visitors, like Alice, can slide through the looking-glass to momentarily become part of the underwater realm - to become part of the Reef Society.

...a society oblivious to our observation as the daily grind of survival unfolds before our very eyes.

Temple of Doom

Temple of Doom

A remarkable site on the northern Great Barrier Reef, right on the outer edge of the Ribbon Reefs.  Massive schools of fish cluster like giant daubs of paint on an underwater landscape.....

Nemo hiding......

Nemo hiding......

Peering through anemone tentacles, Amphiprion percula is immune to the stings of its host anemone......
